Find out what it was like to live in Northern Ireland during the Second World War. How did rationing work? Why was it so important to ‘make do and mend’? How were local communities kept safe?
The Life on the Home Front loan box contains a fascinating selection of real objects from the period for pupils to explore in the classroom. We will carry out a guided investigation of coins, local ration books, and authentic ‘make do and mend’ materials to bring the experience of people during this period to life – with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share research.
