Cancer Fund for Children, our Charity of the Year

For the next two years until 2027, National Museums NI will be supporting Cancer Fund for Children as our company charity. Just like our audiences are at the heart of what we do at the museums, patients are at the heart of this charity.
Here we'll keep you posted on our fundraising journey with the support of museum staff, volunteers, visitors and partners.

About the charity

For the next two years, National Museums NI will be supporting Cancer Fund for Children as company charity. We share a similar ethos and values, and just as our audiences are at the heart of what we do at the museums, patients are at the heart of this charity. Cancer Fund for Children support children and young people impacted by cancer across the island of Ireland. They believe no child should face cancer alone. Every young person under the age of 25 receives the right emotional and therapeutic support to help them cope better with the impact cancer has on their young lives. Cancer Fund for Children aims to empower, connect and strengthen families, so they feel equipped to deal with whatever cancer throws at them. Whether at home, in the community, on the ward, or at Daisy Lodge, our vision is that no child should face cancer alone.

We know our fundraising, awareness and support through museum staff, volunteers and visitors, will contribute to one of many costs.

A Look Back: Air Ambulance NI (2023 to 2025)

From 2023 to 2025, National Museums NI supported Air Ambulance NI as company charity of the year. Just like our audiences are at the heart of what we do at the museums, patients are at the heart of this charity. Air Ambulance NI is your local charity that provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Northern Ireland, together with its partners at the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week during daylight hours. It can get to anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes.

In June 2025, National Museums NI presented Air Ambulance NI with a cheque for £12,000. This amount will keep the ambulance in the air for 2 full days, and on average, would save 4 lives in that timeframe.
